Today being Ange's birthday, Amber made a special chocolate cake.
Here is the chocolate cake with nutella, dolly mixture and strawberries.

05 September 2009 - House of Dun
Today we headed north to see the House of Dun.
These trees greet you as you walk up the drive to the house - and if you touch them you'll find they're very spongy.
We were 25 mins early for the next tour so had time to look at the gardens, this picture shows part of the garden from the side of the house.

After the tour - which was very good - we had a quick refreshment stop in the cafe which was run by an American lady from San Antonio, she'd have been right at home in a stereotypical diner but was also right at home in Scotland. I took advantage of her Mothers recipe "auchenoat cake" which while it may look like haggis with a suet topping actually had more of a carrot cake texture and was delicious.
Amber got herself a crocosmia. I'd have liked the chairs.

01st March 2009 - Anstruther
Today it was my birthday and Amber surprised me by making a breakfast of cookies, marshmallows, blueberries and a geobar.
This was followed by cake.
Afterwards, we headed out to Anstruther to sample the "Fish & Chip Shop of the Year 2008/09" fish and chips. After having to queue for a wee while we got seated and thoroughly enjoyed our fish suppers.
After the meal we got ice cream to go which we finished by the harbour, Ange finished first and headed off to look at the art in the "Harbour Gallery", Amber and I waited for her to come back having read the real name of the cafe she was heading towards - "Harbour Galley".
We headed up the coast slightly to Cellardyke when the skies began to cover over and threatened rain.
Then on the way back through Cellardyke, we stopped again to marvel at the clothes drying green which seemed to be on its own harbour.
