17 April 2010 - Culross

What is the best thing you can do when it is a lovely sunny day, albeit a bit windy? Go for a cycle. Packed up the bikes on the bike rack and headed over to the cycle path in Culross. After heading right towards Kincardine and having a rather nasty fight against the wind [with numerous moans from Amber] we headed left with the wind behind us. Had to make an interesting crossing across the railway line with our bikes.

Great views of the forth estuary and a really good cycle track. It followed the shoreline for a good 3 or 4 miles.

After plenty of fresh air in our lungs we cycled back to the car ....... against the dreaded wind. Multi moans from Amber!!!

19 April 2009 - Culross / Alloa Tower

Today we headed out to see a couple of National Trust properties, first stop was Culross Palace. We'd seen the gardens already last month but now it was open we were able to look round inside it too.

The gardens again.

Culross Palace.

Another view.

After that, we headed over to Alloa to see the Alloa Tower.

When we got home we found we had visitors at the cottage.

And here you can just make out on the left hand side of the picture Amber on all fours wearing her cycling helmet trying to make friends with the sheep while they edge away further and further to the right.

29 March 2009 - Culross

This afternoon we headed over to Culross to have a look at the palace. Unfortunately it was shut so we just had a look round the garden instead. Below is the view over the palace towards the Forth, in the far left you can just make out the Forth Road Bridge.

Below is the garden and the back of the palace.

Amber found a house where only she could fit in the front door.

And at the end of the day, coffee and cake at the Biscuit Cafe.
