08 November 2009 - South Queensferry

Today we headed over to South Queensferry for a little look around. As always, you see the bridges over the Forth before you get there. This is the rail bridge.

An interesting pointy house on the main street.

Fun at weddings is banned in South Queensferry.

Another view of the Forth Rail Bridge.

After a hard afternoons walking and window shopping we stopped for a cuppa and a cake in the Picnic Cafe.

Another view of the rail bridge as the sun started to go down.

And the road bridge.

An interesting cloud that looked either like a man in a hat, a turtle, a flying dinosaur or a turkey. You decide.

Sunset.

Back home, final few fireworks of the weekend and Amber used up the last of the sparklers.

05 November 2009 - Fireworks

Remember remember the 5th of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I know of no reason
Why the gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.

So, in the spirit of bonfire night we had a few fireworks and Amber had some sparklers.

03 November 2009 - Drain

Someone has dug up the drain...

02 November 2009 - Landslide

Following on from the heavy rains of the last 24 hours we woke up this morning to find the hole dug by Alex, Abby and Amber in the summer had been filled in...

01 November 2009 - Rain

Following constant rain for a number of hours, we ended up with quite a puddle out the front of the cottage.

With every passing vehicle spraying water and stones up onto the windows of the cottage it was suggested I head out and clear the drain to hopefully help the water drain quicker. I also redug out a couple of trenches on the other side of the road to let the puddle flow into the burn.
